ZC3H10

Description

The ZC3H10 (zinc finger CCCH-type containing 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

ZC3H10 plays a crucial role in regulating the production of mature microRNAs. It specifically interacts with the precursor form of microRNA MIR143 (pri-MIR143) through its C3H1-type zinc finger domains. This interaction occurs at a specific sequence (5'-GCAGCGC-3') within pri-MIR143, and its effect is to inhibit the processing of pri-MIR143 into its mature form, effectively downregulating the production of this particular microRNA.

ZC3H10 is also known as ZC3HDC10.
