Description

The ZC3H13 (zinc finger CCCH-type containing 13) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

Zinc finger CCCH domain-containing protein 13 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ZC3H13 gene.

ZC3H13 is a key component of the WMM complex, which mediates N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation of RNAs. This methylation plays a crucial role in mRNA splicing and processing. ZC3H13 acts as a regulator of m6A methylation by promoting methylation at the 3'-UTR of mRNAs. It also plays a vital role in controlling embryonic stem cell pluripotency. Within the WMM complex, ZC3H13 anchors the MACOM subcomplex in the nucleus and bridges WTAP to the RNA-binding component RBM15.
