Description

The ZC3H7A (zinc finger CCCH-type containing 7A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

ZC3H7A is involved in the regulation of microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis. It specifically binds to the hairpins of certain miRNAs, such as MIR7-1, MIR16-2, and MIR29A, through recognition of a specific motif (3'-ATA(A/T)-5') located in the apical loop of these hairpins.

ZC3H7A is also known as HSPC055, ZC3H7, ZC3HDC7.
