ZFC3H1
Description
The ZFC3H1 (zinc finger C3H1-type containing) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.
ZFC3H1 is a component of the trimeric poly(A) tail exosome targeting (PAXT) complex, which directs a subset of long and polyadenylated poly(A) RNAs for degradation by the RNA exosome. The RNA exosome is essential for RNA degradation within eukaryotic nuclei. MTREX, a cofactor of PAXT, facilitates substrate targeting by linking to RNA-binding protein adapters.
